Carnival Stock OBC

Hi everyone,

 

I had two questions I was hoping someone could answer. First, the Carnival OBC for having 100 shares, does this combine with other offers, such as having OBC with the booking?

 

Second, is there a certain time frame I need to have held the Carnival stock for it to apply?

The OBC for Your Stock Shares will be on top of, or combined with your other OBC. I usually notify them 2-4 weeks before my cruise. As long as you can show proof of the Carnival Stock it will apply right away. No time frame to be held.

I don’t advise waiting but we forgot and did it 3 days before cruise last week and received the credit midway through the cruise.  Note only one credit per stateroom even if two people in a room each own 100 shares individually.

What vinsheer said is correct.  I would clarify that there's no requirement for holding time but you have to show evidence you hold the shares and most people opt for the monthly broker's statement.  There is a requirement for how far in advance you have to request the OBC, I think it's 3 weeks.  The Carnival shareholder's credit page shows details.

You can apply for it many months before your cruise. So just do it. It is added to your total OBC.

I'm glad to hear they can award the credit with less than 3 weeks notice.  We booked over the weekend for a cruise Sept 18 so we are less than 3 weeks away and I just submitted my request yesterday.

Do you get some sort of notification that it has been added?

In this doc (https://www.carnivalcorp.com/static-files/50351a91-4dc0-4f6b-bfec-684647e6129f) it says, "This benefit is not transferable, cannot be exchanged for cash and, cannot be used for casino credits/charges and gratuities charged to your onboard account."  Can anyone confirm?

They have always allowed it to be used for gratuities.

just gets added to you Sail and sign account. Based on past experience, there is no way for them to separate it , But that could change I guess

They will send you and email stating you have the OBC once your request is processed.

have never gotten an email telling me it was applied....just keep checking your cruise planner.

Never shows in your cruise planner. I've only seen it from the email sent by cabinconfirmations

sometimes it does show on our cruise planner .. as OBC not as stock holders credit.

 

i've had multiple show but a few haven't.

I've always received two emails - one that they received the request, then another that the request was approved.  I usually see it in the cruise planner but if not I check the account once onboard and it's there.  I bring the confirmation email just in case.

This was my recent experience. It also shows as onboard credit on my invoice.
