Lee Cruiser Posted September 10, 2021 #1 Share Posted September 10, 2021 Forgive me if this has already been answered. I know there have been varying opinions on this topic so I wanted to check with those who may have been cruising lately. Has anyone who has actually cruised in the last several weeks been able to use their onboard credit for the gratuities? What about the onboard credit for stock? I know it specifically says you cannot use it for gratuities. Thanks!

We paid for our gratuities with OBC on our Vista cruise, Aug. 21-Aug.29.
SNJCruisers Posted September 10, 2021 #3 Share Posted September 10, 2021 I used stock OBC for gratuities on both of my last two Carnival cruises in 2018 and 2019 on the Horizon.

Did you go to guest services and specify that you wanted OBC to go toward gratuities, or did you just let gratuities be charged to your sail & sign card at the end of the cruise? lobster1313 Posted September 11, 2021 #6 Share Posted September 11, 2021 The OBC just comes off automatically as you charge on the ship.

We did nothing as we knew that the gratuities were going to come off at the end of the cruise anyway. And it did come off automatically. I learned that here on CC!

I was wondering about that because there have been several references about certain types of OBC not being eligible to be used for gratuities. Lol never that I've ever heard about or happened to me. My obc always went to tips without me asking in all the years I've cruised, never had a issue.

The OBC from a cancelled cruise was used on my daughter's account for tips. My wife's and I went over so there was no to tell on our accounts.
