OBC use before the cruise

Sorry as I couldn't find the answer with the search option. Can I use my OBC to prepay gratuities or help with purchasing CHEERS before sailing? I know on some other lines I can do this. What about Carnival? Only use after boarding? Thanks .....

Only after boarding.  No advantage to prepaying gratuities in advance, so save those for the ship.  Cheers is 10% cheaper if you prepay so factor that in if you want to use OBC to pay for Cheers.

Do you have a PVP? When the Cheers promo first came out last winter, our PVP used some of our existing OBC to pay the $200 due to add it to our reservation. So no out of pocket for us!
