Is internet tied to one device?

I can’t locate this information on Carnivals website. I purchased the Cheers package and the internet plan at the same time. I initially thought my husband would be the only one with a phone that we coould video our daughter with, so I purchased it for him. However, I now have a new device and want the purchased plan switch to me. When I try to cancel and rebook online it wants me to cancel the cheers and the internet. How does Carnival distinguish which passenger is using wifi? I don’t want us both to have it, as he won’t use it and would rather leave his phone on the safe at all times. I appreciate any help.

If you have only one internet plan purchased it can be used by any device, your device or someone else's, but not at the same time.

You can switch back and forth between the 2 phones.   If you don't need to be on the internet at the same time, only having one will work.    We only purchase 1 and I log off when he would like to use it and he logs off when I would like to use it.

I dont really understand who hot spots work but was asked can they be a hot spot on any plan? I think for sharing service. I would think no but not really sure.ty.

I was wondering about hot spots also.  I dont know how they work but is that a way two phones can be in use at the same time?

It sadly never occurred to be to check on the Sunrise, but my wifi sharing works just fine on airplanes so I wouldn't be surprised at all if it works onboard.  Would love to hear from someone who has tried it, though!

It does work.  I used it on the Horizon in August.  My phone stayed signed in and I just ran a tablet off it.

This is interesting.  Would it work with an external hot spot? I'm thinking no. I'm not sure how you would sign into Carnival's wifi with an external hot spot.

On the Mardi Gras, I had the premium (or whatever it's called) WiFi for myself. I set up my phone as a hot spot so that Cheryl (or our laptops) could share the love. No issues, as long as they were relatively close by to my phone!

 

When I left the cabin, and Cheryl stayed behind - no internet for her... so, this next trip - WiFi for both of us!
