Shadowing the Greek Islands 20/9-5/10

After a long trip from home to Heathrow, BA to Athens at an ungodly hour, a tarmac wait for Air Canada to remove itself from our gate and a bus journey to Piraeus and the port, we arrived at 3:30. A bit of form filling, a rather tentative nostril exploration and a 20 minute wait and we were passed to board. Luckily it was now 4pm and the suites were ready!

Apparantly we have about 140 or so onboard and the internet works but is glacial.

All in all life is fantastic.

Welcome aboard Silver Spectre

Glad your journey from home was reasonably uneventful & you were one of 71 new embarkees to pass the test and join the Covid free Lady Shadow!!

Fortunately all passengers also tested negative for which we all were very grateful.

As far as I am aware, all passengers so far embarking the Silver Shadow,  and the Silver Spirit have been granted passage, apart from one poor passenger on the inaugural of the Silver Moon on July 28th, who was denied boarding having tested positive for Covid.

Fortunately Silver Shadow can now sail on her second voyage 'clean'' & hope that the daiily temperature check does not throw up any high temperatures!!

kindest regards

Master Echo

We have arrived in Mykonos and have been gifted a dock instead of the expected tender station, yippee! Tonight the Grand Cruisers are to be shipped off for a special folkloric event plus Greek dinner. Given Mykonos’s reputation they may get more than they bargained for 😂

A lovely Sunday sea day, 81c, seas are pretty calm. We have just passed Rhodes as we sail towards Cyprus and Limassol. Trivia continues to be productive, evening shows are poorly attended, maybe 25 last night, and the last guests departed the bar for bed at 11:20.

Thanks to SS for showing the Ryder Cup live on the sports channel, even if it’s a bit of a US procession.
