Port Day in Miami

We have a port day in Miami, Oct. 10 from 8AM to 5PM. Any suggestions on what we could do besides having a beach day?  RCCL is offering 3 excursions - land and sea tour, walking tour and an everglades adventure tour. 

 

And I don't know why we're stopping at Port of Miami. I'm still scratching my head at this stop.

Art Deco Tours offers walking tours of South Beach Miami Beach which are very enjoyable. Same outfit also offers tours of Little Havana which can be combined with lunch.

 

I've enjoyed the Miami aquarium / Frost science museum.

 

Both are easy Uber rides.

Uber to Vizcaya and spend the morning there.  Then head to Rusty Pelican on Key Biscayne for a late, scenic, waterfront lunch.

There's a pretty good Hop On Hop Off bus tour ....

 

Stop 1 ... aka home base is Bayside which is just outside the port ..... walkable or a short taxi/UBER .....

 

We've enjoyed Big Red Bus tours around Europe ... fun way to get a quick overview and you have plenty of options to get off and explore ...

 

p.s. multiple companies offer hop on/off in Miami so if interested it is worth comparison shopping for things that interest you more/less . . .

I always suggest 2 things in every large city.

 

A Big Bus pass and a food tour

 

Big Bus is explanatory and mentioned above

 

Being from So Florida, I suggest finding a Little Havana Food Tour.

 

Take you though the various foods and desserts of Cuba and Latin America
