Depositing to our Sign and Sail account - PRE cruise?

I don't attach my personal account to my Carnival account.  I only use cash or carnival gift cards.  I normally do this once I get on board.   But, does anyone know if I can deposit PRE-cruise,  so I don't have to carry cash or even bother with the Carnival Gift cards.  I would prefer to have my Sign and Sail funded BEFORE I get there.  Is this possible?

We've deposited well over $500 on our S&S account in previous cruises...seems $1500 was the highest we've put on there, all in cash. Not sure if there is a max on cruise cash, though I'm fairly sure if you don't use it all, you lose any remaining balance. Unless something has changed.

This is the maximum for each type of cruise cash per cabin.  You are allowed $500 general Cruise Cash, $500 Bar Cruise Cash, and $500 Photo Cruise Cash.

Beware, Cruise Cash is use it or lose it (or use the casino trick, which only works for general cruise cash).

So question, we are planning on purchasing Cheers and have a $500 OBC.  I plan on add *bar* Cash to cover the addition cost over $500.  And then adding $500 or so of *general* Cash to cover things like the Chef's table and other items.

Is this correct?  Also, we tip additional on our drinks, would this come out of *bar* or *general*?

I'm pretty sure that buying cruise cash does not free you from having to give a credit card or set up a cash account.

I would only do the General cruise cash and maybe some bar cash. You can set up a cash account with as little as $50 and then charge everything to the cruise cash in your account.

You are not obligated to fund your S&S account at all to board.  I have often had enough OBC and Cruise Cash that I elected not to do so and just told them when I boarded that I was all set.  Sometimes I get a funny look, but there is no requirement to add anything at the port.

You can do so.  So, you want to purchase $500 Cruise Cash to cover general purchases and some Cruise Cash - Bar to cover bar purchases (which would be part of your Cheers, if purchased on board).  Sounds reasonable to me.  Anything purchased at the bar, including grats, will come from the bar cruise cash.

Super - thank you.  Then when we get there - our account will be ready to go.   Sounds great!

BUT it Cruise Cash is non-refundable. You do not have that problem with gift cards or cash.
