slots get you points faster. we usually play an hour or so in the morning while having our first coffee. then may stop in in late afternoon before dinner. at some point in the evening after dinner and whatever else we get into we go back for a couple hours before bed. we play in casinos all over so the ship seems to do us as well as most places. our last dozen or so cruises have been anywhere form halfprice to free and always get free drinks while in the casino,

Good Afternoon,

We are starting to cruise more (have three booked) and we are starting to play more. What do I need to know about the casino? How much should I be playing and what games should I be playing to get the perks?

Thanks, Bobbi

Go to www.Oceanplayersclub and register so you are in the system.  I find that playing slots accumulates more points for me than the tables.  Once you reach 1500 points you will get the Drink on us card so that drinks are free when gambling.  It does not take long to get 1500 points. There is no specific amount of money. Right now I have multiple offers and including the top tier Elite.  Initially when I received no offers under the Carnival site I would just email the Ocean Players Club give them the name of the ship, Booking number and date I was on and ask if I had any comps. Initially it was only chocolates and $50 but it gradually grew

Points you earn are based on amount wagered so there is a specific amount of money etc to earn points.  Now if you win and put that back into the games it counts just as if it was money out of your pocket so in that case you’re right that there is no specific amount required out of your pocket.  It all depends on how lucky you are.

Do not get sucked into thinking about how much money.

Time is what is important. Yes, it costs money to play for a while, it is why it important to make your bets accordingly

Easier explanation.

Someone who can stretch $200 over two hours will get more points and attention than someone who comes in and does eight $25 pulls and walks away 10 seconds later.

Typical casino player valuator is something like total time X average wager = ADT (Average Daily Theoretical (loss))

Dave is both accurate and states it in simplest terms.

Playing card games at the tables gets you "rated" while slots earns you points.  Either way they're trying to determine (slots) or estimate (table games) time x avg. wager.

Others have said slots gets you perks faster but it's not that simple and not true in my daughter's and my experience.  I typically play $20 - $25 a hand (poker/blackjack) while my daughter plays Max Bet on slots.  Max Bet on machines she likes to play is less than $20 so, sure enough, I get better offers than she does.  For example, I'll get a FV5 (free balcony cabin) while she'll get a FV1 (free interior room).
