jpc763 Posted October 15, 2021 #1 Share Posted October 15, 2021 Sailing on Escape to Tortola and St Thomas on November 13. Has anyone traveled to the Virgin Islands lately? Wondering if the NCL testing at port will satisfy the USVI requirements and if the requirements for USVI are accepted by BVI. USVI requirements are here https://www.usvitravelportal.com/ John
Rare BirdTravels Posted October 15, 2021 #2 Share Posted October 15, 2021 Read, re-read, and re-read again the information the cruise line is sending you about your specific cruise. That is what you need to focus on. Failure to follow cruise line instructions, which take into account your ports of call, may result in you be denied boarding. And could be considered failure to abide by cruise line health and safety protocols.
Coastalbreezes Posted October 17, 2021 #3 Share Posted October 17, 2021 Sailed to St. Thomas on Gem two weeks ago and we wore masks off the ship and walking around at the port. Masks were required to enter all shops and restaurants as well on transports for excursions. The Freestyle recommended bringing the original or copy of vaccine card but we were never asked for it. Yesimapirate Posted October 18, 2021 #5 Share Posted October 18, 2021 The British Virgin Islands instituted New Covid-19 requirements last week (roughly 10/15/21) It was a bit difficult to understand as my sources were 2 news articles and a YouTube Video but essentially visitors will be required to take a PCR test before being allowed to disembark. I have not seen details such as how many days/hours I'm advance or how NCL is handling it. I have a Dec 5th sailing with Tortolla on Day 5 so I'm also very much interested in the details. I was planning to explore the subject in about 2 or 3 weeks when I get closer to my date but will definitely share what I find.

But in every port we visited, Eastern and Western Caribbean, masks were required once we were off the ship. I recommend you call NCL and ask your Tortola-specific question and hope you'll report back.
ggTexasGal Posted October 18, 2021 #7 Share Posted October 18, 2021 We all should follow what BirdTravels stated in Post#2! The cruise specific information from NCL should be sent to your email around 21-days prior to your embarkation date.
ggTexasGal Posted October 18, 2021 #8 Share Posted October 18, 2021 A statement from the link below... For all the tips on what to know prior to leaving home and for arrival at the terminal, please refer to your Embarkation letter that is sent 10 days prior to your departure. https://www.ncl.com/sail-safe?intcmp=pdt_sl_SAILSAFEVAC
