We have kids and have to test the day of the cruise for the kids.  We will be in town the day prior and have to check out of the hotel around 11.
Our boarding time is 2:30. that's a long time with small kids.  I was going to call in to RCCL tomorrow to see if we can make it earlier.
I hear people all the time showing up when they want.  I would rather show up first thing and get the testing done. especially since we have to wait on results.
With Covid not sure if they are strict about the boarding times.

From all reports, Miami has been pretty strict about boarding times. I don't think calling can get you an earlier boarding time, so that will probably be a waste of time. Checking the app and hoping an earlier time opens up is your best bet. Otherwise you may just be at the port waiting with your bags in the heat until your scheduled time.
