Yes. The guy on the koningsdam was disappointed that I would never take one. He was adorable.

If you are booked in the top cabin of your category and cannot be upgraded via CO, people (including myself) have received OBC in lieu of an upgrade. You should give the CO line another call and ask about that possibility. You are getting the CO for $15pp/day, which is the lowest price they have, as far as I know, but you should be able to get the OBC like others have. 1

Also, cabin avialibility may be an issue. Category DD as a single. Thanks for all the advice. I'll follow up again. Edited November 26, 2021 by Woofbite Additional info. I assume you are on one of the Pinnacle class ships and have booked in an Oceanview SINGLE category, Within that category there is only one sub-category, that being DD. Thus, no where to upgrade you to. Club Orange will not help you as far as upgrades go therefore. If you were in a sub-category F for example, you would be in the lowest ranked Oceanview Large and could be moved up to a sub-category CQ, C, D or E. It is a bit confusing to be sure. We paid for club orange on an upcoming cruise on the Koningsdam and were able to get a category V balcony room (because of club orange) even though we had booked a fully obstructed balcony. We're excited to try the private club orange dining room. You also are supposed to get priority boarding and tender boarding with club orange in case that's important to you. We thought the cost of club orange was worth it for the room upgrade alone, but it's really up to you as to whether you think it's worth the cost or not Did you feel it was worth it After your cruise? For the room upgrade alone, it was worth it. We went from a fully obstructed balcony room to one of the high categories of verandah (can't remember which one exactly). As far as the club orange dining room, we had a very mixed experience there. Sometimes service was great, sometimes it was horrible. Sometimes the food was great, sometimes it was barely edible. It was nice having some extra menu options though between breakfast and dinner, but I wouldn't pay the fee for club orange just to eat at the dining room. It was also nice not having to get tender tickets and being able to skip the line for those, so if you have a cruise with a lot of tender ports, it's a very nice perk to have. We booked a 14 night casino deal for next month and added club orange again to get our choice of cabin (and got a verandah with a huge balcony!). If room choice is important to you, I would say go for it (and it can end up cheaper adding club orange to an obstructed balcony fare than paying the unobstructed fare). mwj Posted September 24, 2022 #108 Share Posted September 24, 2022 For us, it depends upon the cruise and the ship. We have paid for club orange on two longer cruises, due to multiple tender ports, and for the room upgrade (VF->VB in one instance, saving us over $1000). These are the two main reasons why we would choose club orange. We consider the dining as a bonus, that we don't consider when choosing whether to book it. In both our instances, CO was $15/day/pp.
