Embarkation time

We're on the Odyssey from December 18th and are on our third change of embarkation time, one at our request.  As long as we are cleared to embark eventually I’ll just go with the flow, I have nothing pressing in the diary except a few weeks of sheer pampering.

If you can't get on board early enough to have an embarkation lunch in the Colonnade, like one used to, then boarding delays are less important to me, as long as there is a place to sit and wait, or a way to do something else while one still has luggage, and there is no sailing time error.

Previously being able to board at noon and then go eat while waiting for suites to be ready, worked out perfectly with most 12 PM hotel checkout times, as there was no need to hang around hotel lobbies or start a 1-2 hour local abbreviated touring project to then board mid or late afternoon.  That embarkation buffet lunch was always a nice way to relax and start the cruise, after all the worrying about airline delays, missing luggage, missing the cruise, etc. pre-cruise.

Just saw this on the Seabourn website - hope it helps

When will guests be assigned their check-in times for arriving at the pier?
Assigned check-in times will be processed initially at approximately 50 days prior to sailing. Updates will be processed again at 21, 14, 7 and 3 days prior to sailing. If the time shows "To Be Assigned" it will be assigned with the next update processed for the sailing based on the above cadence of assignments.

So we had four time changes and just got a notification that we had to reprint/redos load our boarding passes this am 10 Dec for today’s boarding.  In addition Seabourn pushed out an update to the Source app which crashed on trying to open our wallet.  Fix was to throw away/ delete the Source app shut down phone/iPad. Restart and down load the app from the App Store. Not a great start to the day.

I trust your day got much better while ours got worse (driving north, six accidents, thankfully, none were ours)

Back from the cruise.

Clearly checkin was the big issue - everyone was trying to hit their time but Uber/Taxi/Car services finally had to just say we are going.  Early/Late did not seam to cause an issue

Big deal on boarding passes was just busy work - showed up - offered our Source passes- they just ignored them and printed new ones.

Our suite was ready and as soon as we got on the elevator we were back on the Seabourn we knew and loved.

Note to Seabourn - fix the app sooner and then give arrival windows - like 1330-1400 and all will be well.

Why so many changes?
