Anyone know of any Matanuska tour guide discounts or really any discounts in any of the other ports going southbound.  Thanks for the post of the Major Marine 40% we used it. Looking at MICA or any good guide.  I assume I need a guide to tour it or can it be done on our own?  our ages are good health 71 54 and 13 yr. old. thanks in advance

You'll need a guide. It's required by the people that own access to the glacier. I've not heard of any the tour providers offering any deals, but you could watch their websites or follow them on social media. Mica, NOVA & Matanuska Glacier Guides are the ones I'm familiar with.

Companies usually offer a discount to drum up business. The Alaska visitor season is short enough and busy enough that there's not a lot of  reasons why local companies would need to offer a discount.

If one of you have a National Park Pass bring it along. It will save you a few dollars at Matanuska glacier. Also Discover Center in Ketch.

How will it save you money? The Matansuka Glacier is not in a National Park. Access to the glacier is across privately owned property.

There are at least two coupon books for Alaska with dozens of discounts. You’d have to look to see if they have anything for Matanuska.  Sign up for Groupon alerts.  Check the cruise terminal upon arrival. Seward used to have a coupon book called something like “Passport” that had 2 for 1 tram tickets at Aleyska and the such. Of course, going directly to the vendor website might provide a special as well.

Alaska TourSaver

Northern Lights

Since this isn’t a post to resell the books hope it is allowed.
