when embarkation ports are on the CDC red do not travel list, will you go?

This is not just for Oceania, but all cruise lines. If your embarkation port is in a country that is on the CDC's level 4 red list of countries not to travel to due to very high levels of covid 19, will you cancel your cruise? Should any cruises be embarking or visiting ports in any countries that are on this list? At the moment, all of Europe is on this list.

If you decide to cancel your cruise because of this CDC warning, should cruise lines allow it and give you a FCC to rebook at a later date when you feel safe to go? here is the current list of countries as of 12/20. Spain and Finland were just added today.

What would most Oceania cruisers do with this situation? What should Oceania do?

We were to have sailed on the Insignia February 27, 2022 from Bali to Tokyo.

we canceled this cruise today because Indonesia has a ten day quarantine in place. Plus several other ports are closed to foreign tourists.Oceania seems to think these ports will open soon and hopefully they will but we decided to rebook in 2023!
Safe travels everyone!

We would not cancel the cruise and. with Oceania's SailSafe program.  would be just fine embarking and/or visiting ports.   Since the CDC warnings change daily if not hourly, it would be almost impossible for Oceania or their passengers to determine what the warnings will be weeks and or months ahead.  We sailed on Marina the month of November in Europe and across the Atlantic - countries opened and changed rules several times while we were sailing,  We enjoyed the cruise and the ports.

Dear Susie:

A fair and well stated question.  I have no personal response but to wait until very close to the "full payment date" and assess the situation.  My current view changes with each new pronouncement.  One day I am excited about travel and the next depressed and disapointed.

A very happy and fulfilling holiday season to all cruisers and their families!
