maclady Posted September 7, 2009 #28 Share Posted September 7, 2009 These two hotels have very good rates on Priceline. Has anyone stayed there.Reviews seem to be pretty good on Trip Advisor. Priceline doesn't seem to allow bidding on Auckland Hotels. Has anyone found any particular discount hotel sites for AUckland hotels. The Hilton just seems too overpriced. I'm a bit concerned about the uphill walk to the Hyatt from central Auckland. Is it a real mountain climb-like some of the San Francisco hotels? Anyfeedback? moyaroo Posted September 7, 2009 #29 Share Posted September 7, 2009 Any thoughts on the Intercontinental in Sydney? Moyaroo mentioned Harbour Rocks, we have heard good things about this boutique hotel. Can someone compare. We are in Sydney for a few days (don't know how many yet) after our 30 day San Fran to Sydney next year on the Sapphire. Snowbird the Intercontinental is on the other side of the Circular Quay from the Rocks. It backs up to the Botantical Gardens, but in my opinion is "out of the way". That said there is a lively area just to the Opera side from the Intercontinental and it is by no means dull. Harbour Rocks Hotel does not have a lift except for the luggage (historic building, they are trying to get one but ...) If you get a harbor view at the Harbour Rocks you will have one of the best views of the Opera house. We were in the Penthouse, not the flashiest but we felt darn special!
