Benny, I can't thank you enough for your positive, upbeat posts and gorgeous photos! I've never sailed X, and my cruise on NCL next week was cancelled last night. Others have said it, but I'm very close to putting my money where my mouth is. You have encouraged/convinced me to give X a try, and I'm seriously thinking of booking the 1/22 sailing -- same itinerary as yours. Celebrity needs to give you a commission! Your beautiful photos will inspire many others, I'm sure.

Question for you... If I decide to book, I'll choose a balcony. Should I choose port or starboard side? Which side of the ship will offer the best views for the Western Caribbean itinerary?

Thanks again for the advice, views, and tour. And the food porn, of course, lol!

They will want updated info and if they require testing as they did last week, the Captain will tell them to pound sand and we go to sea.  No big loss as far as I'm concerned.

Hahahahaha … that is exactly how I feel!

Thank you so much.  We have cruises with NCL many times and we have cruises with X many times and I have to tell you that X is amazing.  Totally different experience.

Take a cruise on X. It is much better than NCL.

If you want a traditional balcony, then you want a sunset balcony (SV).  It gives you an aft or wake view.  The side balconies on the Apex are what's known as  Infinity (IV) balconies. Check out the website for pics. The starboard side of the ship is where the Magic Carpet is located.

I will let other answer the question about which side because I don’t really know.  We didn’t spend a lot of time in our room.  I don’t want to give you the wrong answer and ruin your first experience with X.  But do spend some time at the rooftop garden and Eden and have the chocolate chip cookie at Eden cafe!

Day 5

Local liquor prices.  This is the place we come to buy liquor.  Tequila mostly.  Prices are in pesos!  Sauvignon Blanc from Chile is amazing.  They have a lot of select from.  They are currently not confiscating liquor so we buy it and pack it the same day.  They are gifts.  The Huana is half the price compared to duty free.

What does Huana taste like? Do you drink it straight or mixed with other things?

We have dinner reservations for 600.  I will infer you are around 815 or 830 since you have made the 730 shows.  We'll be at the 930 rockumentary show. Any suggestions?

Day 5

I was chatting with the manager at FineCut and he does not think we will dock at Nassau.  To us we knew what we signed up for while cruising during this crazy time so we will NOT be one of those people lining up at Guest Relations to complain.  It is what it is and the crew has done an amazing job on this cruise and it makes no difference to us.  I will buy my rum cake next time I am in Nassau.

I will check our reservation tomorrow.  The APP schedule has not been our friend.  I believe we are 7 at the last night because we were planning to pack in the afternoon and go to the late show and then say our farewell to the crew that have been taking care of us with extra extra tips.  So I will get back to you tomorrow.

Sounds like a plan.  If you're at 700, you can swing by our table.   We will be on the ground floor adjacent to the kitchen.
