Spa Cafe Lunch… it pales in comparison but at least it’s healthier!!!

The Spa Cafe is like being in the batter's box--Warming up to hit a " Home Run " at dinner.

( A discussion between me and " Guess Who " ) .

" Why can't I order 3 shrimp cocktails, 2 main courses, and 3 deserts ??? I hardly ate anything for lunch. The 4 scones with the 3 cups of coffee at 4pm doesn't count because I was just " killing time " until my 2 diet cokes and appetizers at 7pm in the Sky Lounge.

Didn't you notice, I only had one scoop of ice cream with the 4 chocolate cookies " ???

Benny, thanks for this wonderful trip report!

I noticed from your pictures no one wearing masks in the Solarium, I am assuming they are not mandating them in this area.

Thanks!

I did not see any sign at the Solarium about mask and saw no one come by and ask you to put a mask on.  Some people do have mask on but it’s tough if you go into the water/the whirlpool with a mask on.  I have seen no one yet in the whirlpool with a mask on.  X is treating everyone like an adult.  They remind you during announcements and during show time but I saw no one chasing people down to ask them to put a mask on while in transit and certainly not in any of the bars.  They gave you an option to cancel for a limited time so if you want to come on the cruise please wear the mask while in transit and respect the hard working staff that’s onboard.  It is not their policy and they don’t like it any more than we do.  I can’t even imagine what’s it like to wear the N95 mask all day long while working.  We just have to wear it while walking around and in the theaters / public entertainment area when you are not eating drinking.

Great pictures again. Me & DW had two filets at lunch buffets on our b2b Apex last month. They were great! You are right, no other cruise line does this for lunch and I have ate on all of them .

Great minds think alike.  Had two filets today and last week had one filet and two lamb chops.

Day 6

As requested… in room dinning.  Not the greatest selection so I highly recommend order breakfast and eat else where for lunch and dinner if you want to!

It's pretty humid at the Solarium, and on top of that I always smell a presence of chemicals there; so even without a cover it's hard to breath there for an extended period of time (I always wonder on warm cruises with sunny days like in Caribbean why one would enjoy to be in the Solarium instead of outside which is the whole point of cruising in such places to begin with?).  With covered nose I would just run through the Solarium or better yet reach my destination (like a spa) without going to the Solarium.  The next question will be whether covers are mandated in a steam room I guess (observing these days, it appears that such a question is on the absurdity list).

There are some of us that prefer the peace and quite that is offered by the Solarium.  I also like the fact that I do not get roasted like I would if I lay out in the sun.

While I agree with the chemical smell, primarily from the pool and hot tubs, I have not found it difficult at all to breathe while in there.

With 40+ cruises (mainstream, premium, and luxury), among other mainstream lines Celebrity is by far the most close to luxury lines.

I don't disagree.

But good to know we can get an upscale experience at a mainstream price.

Day 5

Someone asked about Craft Social… it is nice area dark and moody …

My husband was extremely disappointed by the lack of beer choices in Craft Social. They probably had 10% of the beers listed on their menu. The bartender - who was pretty surly - ended up putting the available beers on the counter to “choose” from. Im sorry but Mich Ultra is not a craft beer. Celebrity shouldn’t advertise this as a craft beer venue if they don’t stock it.

The extravaganza happens once a cruise so make sure you double check with the server on your first day to confirm the actual day.  We don’t plan specialty dinning in extravaganza night or lobster tail night which is tonight by the way.

So, the extravaganza is for two meals - both lunch and dinner?  Or were all those pictures for one meal?  Holy moly.....

@BennyBrun.......I am going to have WITHDRAWALS when this cruise ends....you have done a FANTASTIC job taking us along with you.

For those of us who have yet to cruise with Celebrity you did a WONDERFUL job convincing me it is worth every penny.....the food pics are over the top as well as the ship itself.

Thanks again for all your efforts in taking us along with you on your cruise!

Susan

BennyBrun - what a fabulous job!! And your positivity made it even better!!  We originally booked our March 5th cruise for the ship, Key West and Grand Cayman.  Now it's just the ship, and you have sold us on that 10 times over ☺️ Best review ever and some of the best food porn ever!!  What a great job!  We were sold on still going no matter what and you just made us that much more excited to go!!

Buffet extravaganza is only one time at lunch.  That was for one meal!  Tonight is lobster night!  Stay tuned!

Thank you so much.  Yeah we were supposed to go to key west and grand cayman but they were swapped out for Costa Maya and Nassau or Cozumel I lost track.

Thank you so much!  Don’t get me wrong I would 100% go back to the Mardi Gras because it’s different and we are booked on the Celebration for the Christmas cruise this year so can’t wait!

In the days of 1/3rd full ships, I understand why they can’t have everything on board…they are going to stock what’s in demand…
