Day 7

Make Sure you check every piece of mail in your slot.  We checked out the casino on the first day and played slots for fun before dinner and by our second night an envelope arrived from Future Cruise arrived.  I thought it was junk mail so I didn’t even open it till later on in the cruise.  It’s a FREE CRUISE!!!!  We were so excited and we rushed down to future cruise to make sure it’s not an error and we booked the May 7th 2023 7 night Norway Fijords cruise in an infinite verandah in the exact same room.  So now it’s now it’s not goodbye Apex it will be see you next year!!!  It came out to $371.xx for two including taxes and fees.

@BennyBrun If you swing past GS (and there isn't a line!) could you kindly ask what the numbers are looking like for 1/22 please?  Last time I was on Apex there were 900... which was nice and comfortable.

I can ask for you but I don’t think they will know yet.  I believe they know the capacity for the 1/15 sailing.  You might want to check back with people that are coming on for the 1/15 sailing and ask them to check.  I will try!

Would you mind sharing what level you are in Blue Chip? We are both pearl, but my DH was offered a discounted BCC cabin for an Aug cruise, but they said I wasn’t eligible. Just wondering if you need to be very active at the casino or if this is a possibility for any BCC members.

No way to trace at a bar.  Dining room was social distanced so it was never a problem.

Tom, just go with the flow.  If you're that scared, stay home.  What will happen will happen.

Something must be  OK, we are docked in Nassau, which is something we did not do last Friday.

Not scared, we have been traveling throughout the pandemic even before there were vaccines.  Just interested in knowing so that we can use proper judgement in social settings.  We like to sit and the various bars and interact with other guest.  One of the biggest joys of traveling is meeting others.

Good Sailing

Tom

On day one it was probably 45 minutes at most.  Nothing outrageous either, up $50.00 bucks.  I guess they want that $50.00 back 😝.  Very little gaming activity with Blue Chip.  Still that shining white pearl level 😝

Pearl … shinning white pearl ( by the way that is everyone) I really doubt that 45 minutes is very active in the casino on the first day since the mail came on night two with our dinning reservation reminder.

There is a thing currently going on called Covid.  Many supply chains are strangled.  People need to make sacrifices.  The fact that your husband's beer selection on a cruise during a pandemic when other cruise lines are cancelling sailings left and right is truly a first world problem and is probably ranked about 999 out of the top 1000 things we should be worried about right now.

Just be thankful you were able to cruise when you did.  There are others on RCI and NCL that can't make that statement.

Oh thanks for the slap on the wrist 😬Just because we are “lucky enough” to cruise doesn’t mean that I can’t comment on something on board that I felt was sub-par. There is certainly plenty of discussion on these boards about experiences on board and  I merely commented on the situation as some others might be interested. we loved Apex despite the “sacrifice” of the limited beer selection and have booked it again.

‘Great job with your wonderful review Benny btw!!!

You can easily social distance on our sailing.  As far as mingling we were hesitant and we stayed on in our own little bubble.  The usual hi and hello but nothing like before the pandemic.

We were impressed with what we got on the APEX.  It did not feel like they cut corners or skimped on anything.  Did they have all the varieties of vitamin water like they did on the Summit?  No but we were thrilled with the selections.

Wow that’s great! Hopefully this will still be an offer in February! Thanks for sharing!

And the typical me first Carnival cruiser would possibly cut off my wife for an elevator.  This is our first cruise with her and the scooter and she has handled it fairly well.  I know it's going to be a different animal on Carnival and I am well prepared for it.

The other side of this is the inconsiderate scooter users who will run over toes, bump into people, crowd into lines so they can be first, who will drive into an elevator where they clearly don't fit!

I've been both the scooter driver and 'driven-over'... both sides just require patience and consideration.

And as a 'typical Carnival cruiser', I must say I'm a bit disheartened at the negativity. Remember that knife cuts both ways.

As with the casino I am only reporting my experience and your YMMV.  I am not an advocate of casino.  I see it as another form of entertainment only!😬

You're very, very, very lucky to receive that offer. My husband gambled over $8,000 last month on the Apex, went from Amythest to Sapphire and although he was treated very nicely by the casino host he never received a free cruise certificate for his play.

We made it to Nassau!!!!  So far a whopping 20 or so people got off the ship!  We are here today with Virgin, Disney and 2 Carnival ships.  It is a busy port day today.  Highs in the low 70s a little chilly compared to the last few days long pants day!

Greetings

Watched Apex arrive on the live port cam.  The port authorities must have known not many Apex cruisers wanted to go ashore.  They berthed you at the farthest possible docking spot :).

Wow that is a big jump on the level!  Maybe they will do something when you get back home?  Don’t know how this thing works!
