trgraham123 Posted January 13, 2022 #1 Share Posted January 13, 2022 Carnival Sunshine is requiring all passengers to do a pre-embarkation test at the cruise terminal for the upcoming 10 day cruise on Jan 17. This is the first mandatory pre-embarkation test requirement I have seen for Carnival.
Rare carribbound Posted January 13, 2022 #2 Share Posted January 13, 2022 If we will have to do a test at the port then they should just can the idea of the other 48 hour one. It’s such a waste of resources to do both.
K_e_short Posted January 13, 2022 #3 Share Posted January 13, 2022 It's required because of the length of the cruise. Other cruises of that length, and going out of that port (I think) have had similar testing. Those cruising to Hawaii have added testing requirements as well. Thats why it's important to read the Carnival website, but to also pay attention to your specific cruise rules. Things change quicklly.
Rare BlerkOne Posted January 13, 2022 #4 Share Posted January 13, 2022 I hope it sticks. We have several long cruises coming up.

Proactive is better than reactive.

No altered ports, Panama Canal, phenomenal time..... and really inexpensively.
Rare carribbound Posted January 13, 2022 #8 Share Posted January 13, 2022 What I was saying is if they are doing a test immediately prior to boarding, why do the test 48 hours prior to boarding?

I understood that. Even if the cruise line didn't require, would you want to fly to a port, not knowing if you would be allowed to board? Some will pop positive in the 2 days, but some would certainly already be positive.
