Cruising for the first time on the Disney Dream with our 8 year old granddaughter.

I would appreciate any advice anyone can give me to help make this a memorable trip for her.

i would also like to know when is the best times to book her into the kids club.  From what I understand, I can only book her for 2 hours a day prior to embarkation.  So I want to make sure that I book her for the best times for her to be there.

Also, can anyone tell me if they do pirate night on three night cruises.

Anything special that we should do on Castaway Cay with her?

Any Disney Dream secrets that we should know?

Thank you for your help in making this special for her.

The cruise will be magical without any extras needed!

8 is a great age.

My daughter enjoyed searching for Hidden Mickeys a lot.

She loved the novelty of ordering room service.

Best wishes for a wonderful cruise.

DCL is no longer doing Pirate night as they have in the past.  Currently they are doing a Buccaneer takeover.  A few pirate themed activities during the day and, fireworks.  But not the big Pirate party they used to have.  Also, no pirate themed menu on 3 night cruises.

As to what hours to pre-select, there's really no way of knowing precruise what activities will be happening at what times.  You can add additional hours once onboard, if you find something on the Navigator you think she'll be interested in doing.

Midship Detective is a fun game for all ages onboard.

Regarding pirate theme, is there any reason to bring pirate costumes?   What about princess dresses for her?

People do wear pirate themed costumes onboard.  Same with princess dresses.

If you want to pack items for one time wear onboard, that's up to you.
