Will cruise ships return to Santa Barbara?

Local authorities are trying to bring back Santa Barbara as a port stop (tender), but locals are already raising the alarm. Magic 8 Ball says situation cloudy.

The comments made on the link provided are extremely under-informed, IMO. I hope someone at the hearing will be allowed to rebut some of this nonsense.

People want to visit ports in California?

 

I'm all about flying in and leaving from San Diego but a port call in Santa Barbara or San Francisco does not sound appealing right now....maybe 10 years ago but not today....JMO.  

 

Why?  Many people in Santa Barbara do not want ships and are not welcoming (from past personal experience attending a wedding there...got an earful when the topic turned to cruising) and I'm not into walking over feces and needles on the sidewalks of San Francisco (friends cut their trip short (late summer) from SFO and told several colorful stories).

 

I hope things change because it is such a beautiful place and we've enjoyed California in the past.....

I don't understand.  If you are scheduled for that port in March, it would seem that Santa Barbara has already been brought back.
