Rare seagunthera Posted January 22, 2022 #1 Share Posted January 22, 2022 Sailing the MR itinerary in a month (for the 5th time) and looking for recs regarding fun food/booze/off the beaten path tours/restaurants/sights in any of the 3 ports (Cabo, PV, Mazatlan). Thanks in advance!
jmelnick Posted January 28, 2022 #2 Share Posted January 28, 2022 Vallarta eats or vallarta food tours have been good to us. flavorteller in mazatlan is good as well. We're going to try juan more taco in Cabo in March.
tukogirl Posted January 28, 2022 #3 Share Posted January 28, 2022 We had an amazing experience with Star at foodphototour dot com. We followed up with a tequila and chocolate pairing tasting with Vallarta Tequila tastings. It was lovely as well. Would highly recommend both. SelectSys Posted January 29, 2022 #4 Share Posted January 29, 2022 Here are my two recommendations for Cabo and PV. Really these recommendations are not too far off the beaten path but probably attract less cruise passengers. Cabo: Los Claros - seafood and tacos with a somewhat mixed clientele - locals and tourists El Peregrino - meat/steak restaurant that I like more for dinner. Not sure it's open in the morning El Pollo de Oro - ribs and chicken, breakfast too, relatively "cheap eats" for all. PV Ocho Tostados - mainly seafood and has more locals Boca Tomates - this really is more off the beaten cruise ship path and incorporates the beach. Only recommendation requiring a car/cab Bareclona Tapas - tourist joint but fewer cruise passengers with a nice view and good food
