MsSoCalCruiser Posted February 3, 2022 #1 Share Posted February 3, 2022 I just received a Cancellation Notice for a cruise that was a Casino Promotion and also one for the airfare that we booked. If the agent who reserves and processes your portion of the payment for you doesn't protect it, the system may cancel for non-payment of the casino portion. I was able to reinstate without issue except that my original cabin was gone. But they booked me in the cabin two doors down. I just booked the air yesterday! Will it be price protected? The cruise was booked and I paid my portion back in 2020. I have been on hold for over 30 minutes already and am grumpy.. I forwarded the casino department that email and they replied that I did not need to worry and that they would take care of it… Well they didn’t. But early January got the notice my booking was cancelled! It took about 2 hours to get resolved but it was. Just a pain for something I didn't do! I didn't have airfare so that wasn't an issue for me. And two days ago I finally got the updated notice from the Casino Dept that it was paid....and this is for a cruise end of March. I was made to feel that it was my fault because someone other than the Casino dept added the Air yesterday and supposedly that caused the booking to cancel last night. Then I got transferred to the air department, it rang once and then dead silence so after one hour on the phone I’m back on hold with the casino department again because they told me I had to talk to someone in the air department and dropped the call when they transferred me. I’m so over this. Oh my goodness, that is so wrong. That's exactly what happened to me - adding the airfare cancelled everything overnight. Except in my case the casino rep kept me on hold while THEY spoke to the air department to get it all squared away. Good luck to you, I do hope you get this straightened out for you and that you don't have to spend the entire day on something that should be easy. All my bookings now are protected I was not happy to see my cabin back in inventory. Thankfully I caught it early in the day and was able to get most of it back BUT if this is a VIP cruise booking make sure they reinstate that didn't happen on mine and I was SOL on board but they did give me a little swag bag. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
