hevnsprncs Posted February 8, 2022 #1 Share Posted February 8, 2022 Good Afternoon, we arrive back to port on 4/9 and typically we'd fly out of FLL or Miami, but I'm having difficulty locating flights that work for us. If our flight was scheduled to depart from PBI (West Palm Beach) at 12:45/12:55 p.m. do you think we'd have enough time to debark and be picked up by our transfer and make it there with enough time? I don't have any experience with PBI or how busy it may be and how soon in advance we'd really need to be there to get through security. Thanks in advance for any advice!! It's a one hour drive, get off the ship as soon as allowed and you will make it.
ohiolovescrusing Posted February 8, 2022 #3 Share Posted February 8, 2022 We once did this for an 11am flight home on a Sunday. As mentioned above, we carried off, got an Uber/Lift, did the hour drive and was at the airport more than two hours ahead of time. Had to wait until we could check in 😃. It is a smaller airport. Was before Covid, but would do again for a good flight time/cost.
pl281 Posted February 8, 2022 #4 Share Posted February 8, 2022 Here is a google map / directions - https://www.google.com/maps/dir/Port+Everglades+Terminal+25,+Fort+Lauderdale,+FL+33316/PBI+airport+(PBI),+James+L+Turnage+Boulevard,+West+Palm+Beach,+FL/ For a 12:45pm flight - I would say if you are off the ship (in the car) by 9am you'd be to PBI by 10:30 the latest assuming there is no traffic. PBI is a smaller airport in that there is 1 terminal and 2 concorses - I think there are a total of 30 gates for the whole airport. I've seen security lines at about 10 minutes a couple of times but that is really on the long side
hevnsprncs Posted February 8, 2022 Author #5 Share Posted February 8, 2022 Thanks all!! Sounds a lot like our Richmond airport, although since covid it seems our security lines and wait times have really increased, where as before we were in and out in no time and we could show up an hour before departure for a domestic flight without issue. We live about 40 minutes north of PBI. For our last cruise, we didn't carry off our luggage, we waited for our shuttle to Park by the Ports, waited for the casino to open so we could use the rest room, and were home by 10:30. You should be fine.
Cienfuegos Posted February 17, 2022 #7 Share Posted February 17, 2022 I live in the area, and I would agree you should be fine. With pre-check, five minutes wait on line at PBI is a lot.
