We're doing the Rainforest tour through Thenford Grey tours. They offered to take us to the beach after the rainforest and stay as long as we want. Has anyone spent an afternoon here? I'm wondering what's the best beachside cafe/restaurant for kids.

No….
Babylon on a poor quality beach.   Think a kick-back here.

Go to the Marriott $39 pp for adult with children free - 10% discount on food.

Great Beach Pizza ideal for family sharing.  They also have a day room for family use for a few dollars more.

Taxi back to ship $20 total- Marriott will call one for you.

Contact the hotel direct for booking. Mention it if one is a Marriott member.

THanks for the info. $100 vs. $40 seems like a big jump. Maybe $140 depending on what they consider child age. Plus we only have a few hours after the rainforest tour. Also, who would get the kickback from the tour company? Every restaurant on the beach? Seems unlikely.

Don’t understand why that beach is seen as a good destination by the tour company, unless it’s being dropped off at a specific bar for the stay.  However, in saying that, it’s what one requires from a beach visit, it’s also one’s money and one’s decision.  Everyone has different requirements.

Port Royal,   I thought the Marriott was on the other side from Frigate Bay.  Thenford used to drop people off at Shipwrecks down on South Friars.  But if dropping off at Frigate's Bay, Buddie's or Patsy's might be good choices with family involved.

No confusion.  One’s choice between Frigate and the Marriott is a no brainer.  However, as stated the OP pays the money, so therefore they make the choice of how/where to take lunch and beach time.  Caveat emptor.
