Beach Vendor Good Stuff?

I can tell you what not to buy...

When we arrived at Blue Reef and were getting settled at the beach the first thing the host told us is the cigars are not actually from Cuba and the silver is not real.

My wife likes the beaded bracelets she bought, and the painted bowl. The price for the bowl started at $20 and ended up at $5.

Your best bet is to just browse through all the vendor kiosks along the malecon.  If looking for something particular make sure it's Heche en Mexico.  Lots of items from China made to look like Mexican crafts.   As most of the stuff you'll see on the malecon, is also available at the cruise port, wander through the cruise port first and get an idea of what they are charging.  You ca get a better price and even haggle a bit along the malecon.   But yes cigars are not Cuban.  There's no Cuban sanctioned store in Costa Maya.  And never buy jeweler or metals from street vendors period.
