We had booked the town excursion that eventually ended up there, the one with a cultural dance show and lunch. We only had about an hour of beach time there, but the people we ended up sitting next to on the beach were there with the beach day excursion. I get the impression that it’s the stop for a bunch of different excursions. The beach and pool was nice, lots of locals there as well as cruise ship passengers, so fairly crowded, but we didn’t get there until mid-afternoon so you might have an easier time finding chairs and shade in the morning. Food at our lunch was okay, typical “buffet” Mexican, nothing fancy. Show was a bit painful. Very chaotic trying to find the beach and change rooms, factoring in the language barrier. They point down a hallway, but don’t say that you have to follow that hall then turn left and follow that hall all the way to the end to get to the change rooms, and then the path to the beach is there. It’s by the children’s area/pool, and then you pass another larger pool on your way to get to the beach. There’s sunshades, and hard plastic loungers. I dug out a few pics that show the beach, and one of lunch, they’re not great but at least it’s better than nothing.

milolii Posted February 21, 2022 #7 Share Posted February 21, 2022 @bookbabeLooks like we did the same tour in March, 2019. We left the tour in town and headed to that hotel. Tour director Ok’d it. So we were there a few hours. It was OK. The pool/ hot tub at the top was packed with people. Vendors on the beach were relentless even if you bought something from them. You really couldn’t relax. They would walk in front of you even if you were taking a walk on the beach. We went a ways down the beach and were then able to avoid many of the vendors. You could also rent beach toys. Water was cold. This was the first week of March. We finally went to the main pool area and it was much quieter. There is a grotto that is cool. As bookbade says the furniture was plastic, but it worked. We met a couple who stated they come every year for two weeks. I remember thinking, I don’t think I would do that, but they were certainly happy. The buffet food was a little above average and had variety. People/service seemed very nice.

Smith1218 Posted January 22 #9 Share Posted January 22 Beware. This was offered by NCL and the brochure stated there were 5 pools and it came with lunch and two drinks. There were only two pools and what appeared to be a pool-sized hot tub (lukewarm) with inoperable jets. Even though our party ordered margaritas and daiquiris, there was no alcohol at all in the drinks. Not at all worth the money.
