famof4togo Posted February 22, 2022 #1 Share Posted February 22, 2022 We are traveling and have late set dinner (8:15pm?) I know about and would have selected YTD but we are a big group with teenage boys and we thought this best. My question is, I like to see the comedy shows...and remember from cruises past that you need to show up early for a decent seat....is this possible with late dining to make the comedy show (not the late adult one but the general one)? I feel like I have looked at a few schedules and it doesn't seem possible timewise? Any insight? TIA
csm5986142 Posted February 22, 2022 #2 Share Posted February 22, 2022 Yes, I think this will work well for you. We had YTD last week. Due to trying to please the majority of the group, ate really early (around 5:30) and were never able to get done/out/in line for the comedy show (they started at 7 if I remember correctly). You should be able to go before dinner. I was surprised to see the 18+ shows started as early as 9pm. I thought in the past it was closer to 11 pm, but I could be wrong.
famof4togo Posted February 22, 2022 Author #3 Share Posted February 22, 2022 So going from late seating dinner to the comedy show is unlikely?

First of all, it all depends on which ship you're on as different ships have different schedules. But, in general, with late seating dinner you would be able to go to the PG comedy show that is usually at 700 or 715 and on those nights that the R rated shows are at 1000 you could catch those shows as well. One or two evenings per week there is sometimes a R rated show in the big showroom at 1100. If you're cruising on the Mardi Gras, it's a whole different story with well over 50 comedy shows over the course of a cruise.
JT1962 Posted February 22, 2022 #5 Share Posted February 22, 2022 (edited) As a general rule, those with late seating dining go to the early shows before dinner and those with early / first seating dining go to the second shows. Joebucks Posted February 22, 2022 #6 Share Posted February 22, 2022 Tried every option and my 6 pm early dining is by far my favorite. We are almost always out by 7.

Last month on the Valor we ate at 5:30 every night and we made the 6:30 comedy shows without any problem.
scoobysnacks70 Posted February 23, 2022 #8 Share Posted February 23, 2022 Maybe not eat in the dining room that night and eat at one of the other options...
mondello Posted February 23, 2022 #9 Share Posted February 23, 2022 Can't you have pizza delivered to you at the comedy show?
