Is it possible to take out 2 different insurance policies? Hubby has a preexisting condition so was looking at an annual policy for this. Does not include trip cancellation , trip interruption, baggage delays but does include medical and preexisting. I would then take out a second policy that covers for only one trip at a time.

Looking for ideas

You might get better results by posting your question on the Cruise/Travel Insurance board.  You can find it here:

The problem with that is the fact that Chase does not cover pre-existing conditions so you still do not have coverage for any cancellation or interruption resulting from such a condition. There is no waiver or look-back period as with a comprehensive travel policy. Anything that exists or occurs prior to the initial deposit date can be the basis for claim denial.

If you have to buy a comprehensive policy for each trip, you lose any advantage of having the annual medical. You are paying twice, maybe three times depending on your primary health insurance, for medical coverage; and you create the added complication of coordination of benefits among all those policies.

Consult a professional like Steve Dasseos or one of his associates at the Trip Insurance Store for guidance.
