Cruises with stops in Russia/Ukraine now have delayed payment dates...

With cruise lines sailing in the Baltic all requesting similar itinerary changes, we do not anticipate to have our finalized updated itineraries for several weeks, so for this reason, we will not expect final payment nor will any cancellation fees including administration fees be assessed until modifications to current Russia and Ukraine itineraries are finalized.

but for some who have already made final payments on their baltic cruises, some cruise lines are still charging cancellation fees -- especially Norwegian.

I can't help you there...this is a Regent board.

Hello Pcardad,

Where did you get this piece of information?

Do you know if this includes grand voyages? We're booked on the Grand European Sojourn which had a St Petersburg overnight. Final payment is currently due April 8.

This message has not reached the UK Regent office, UK TAs or UK guests; nor has a deferment of final payment been made.

We did receive the not unexpected notification of 24th Feb that St Petersburg will be removed from the itinerary.

For our Baltic cruise departing 7th July, final payment date is still 90 days prior (as standard Regent UK Ts&Cs)

My last conversation with the Regent(UK) office regarding final payment and likely itinerary elicited the response "watch this space"

Our UKTA hasn't even advised us of the cancelled ports of call, at least Regent managed that. Suffice to say our UKTA will not be used again.

Must be a nightmare reorganising ports of call & with the potential of escalation even more so. I'm guessing they'll work their way thru the dates as best they can, but with everyone scrambling for different ports competition will be fierce, benefit of a small ship is they can get into smaller ports. We have no intention of paying final (due 26th April) until we have a revised schedule, if we loose the cruise so be it.

We had a notification from Regent that the Russian ports on our July/August cruise on board Navigator would be cancelled at the same time as many others, judging from the response here and elsewhere.  We book directly with Regent in Southampton, so perhaps that made a difference?   We also had an email yesterday with the notification that our Voyager Rome to Venice cruise in October will now be Rome to Trieste.  Thankfully, the other ports remain the same: no Greek island substitutes for Montenegro and Croatia.

Since we paid for both using FCC there's just £5 to pay (I believe).  Perhaps we'll negotiate delayed payment for that 😉

Yes Gilly, we had the same email from Regent regarding Rome to Venice in October. I can’t help but think that Venice has shot itself in the foot as far as cruise visitors are concerned. Maybe they will speed up the development of the new port.
Looking forward to Trieste for a change though.

Yes, we too.  A previous near perfect experience of Venice makes us surprisingly reluctant to over-write some cherished memories (we're not normally so sentimental about such things!) and we viewed it as a mere final port to an interesting cruise.  We're currently awaiting notification about flight adjustments having opted for a fairly early morning departure for LHR which probably won't work for Trieste.  We'll see...

Our air itinerary shows 1pm departure from Venice. That timing suits us since we transfer to LGW to fly back to Guernsey. I don’t know if they will change the return to Trieste rather than Venice though.
wait and see.

Yes indeed.  We chose the earlier 0835 flight from Venice (arr LHR at 0955) and will simply leave it to Regent to sort out.
