JHS2 Posted March 30, 2022 #1 Share Posted March 30, 2022 Would like to receive comments on the quality of the cabin and overall ship refurbishment. We are considering cruising on the Paul Gaugin in the fall of 2023 and appreciate feedback. Also, we have read that the ship will be in dry dock for part of 2023, does anyone know the reason for the drydock? Thank you

Thank you We haven't sailed on the PG since the last dry dock, but the more recent pictures look nice. The PG has gone to Singapore for dry dock every 3 years for quite a few years now. Sometimes it's mainly cosmetic, and sometimes they do mechanical upgrades. They add a cruise from Fiji to Bali on the way to dry dock, and one from Bali to Fiji on the way back. We were supposed to be on the April 2020 Fiji to Bali, but it was cancelled and eventually it went to Singapore from Tahiti and back without passengers. After several unsuccessful attempts to take another PG cruise, we booked the Jan 2023 Fiji to Bali.

hacra Posted April 17, 2022 #5 Share Posted April 17, 2022 We were on the April 2 - 9 journey and the ship looks wonderful. In one of our many conversations with the captain it was our understanding that the last dry dock was to improve and redo many of the passenger comforts. The next dry dock is to update many of the ships mechanical systems. The goal from him was to extend the ships lifespan by about 8 more years.
