Random pop cost questions

I'm trying to decide if I want to purchase the soda drink package and I have a few questions:

How much does each cup of pop cost?

If I order a drink at dinner, is the refill free, or do I pay for the second cup?

I know a 20% gratuity is added on. I average 2-3 cups of Sprite or ginger ale a day to help with sea sickness (in addition to every med and sea band option available). I usually get the non-alcoholic package on RCL since it includes mocktails and bottled water. I usually order enough to make that package worth it. I'm just not sure if this one is worth it to me.

The most recent price I've seen is $3.45, which I do not think includes refills (anyone know for sure?). Three sodas a day will make the package worthwhile.

NCL is a Pepsi customer so you'll have Sierra Mist rather than Sprite. Ginger ale is available. The only diet soda is, as far as I can tell, diet Pepsi.

NCL has bad beverage packages if you're not interested in alcoholic drinks, since the options are soda or soda + booze. Unless you upgrade to the top tier beverage package, you'll pay out of pocket for specialty coffees, bottled water, and smoothies. I tried RC for the first time recently and felt that the Refreshment package was a great deal considering how often I used it. I mean, milkshakes and lattes and Coke Freestyle concoctions at no extra cost, it was amazing for someone used to NCL...

The 3/20 Gem cruise had Diet Sierra Mist in cans at the Casino Bar.

yes, NCL always has a diet lemon lime option... depending on where the ship was provisioned, NCL carries either "sierra mist free" (a.k.a. "diet sierra mist") or diet 7-up (7-up is distributed by pepsi bottlers in some countries.) i've been on ships where some bars had sierra mist and some had 7-up.

the ironic thing is, when you have a beverage package, many bartenders don't actually "ring up" soda... they just serve you, give a cursory glance at your card and wave you on. of course, if you don't have that card, you'll probably be charged.

regarding "smoothies"...  non-alcoholic versions of pina coladas and banana and strawberry daiquiris are included in the regular beverage package, but not the "soda" package.

On our 2/18 Gem cruise they had Sprite Zero in any bar I asked for it, including the one at the buffet.  I was surprised as is not a Pepsi product.

For the sea sickness issue- consider looking into a Relief Band. I have 3 family members with significant motion issues and the Relief Band is allowing them to cruise this umber👍😊

In my experience:

> without a beverage package, you are served a can of soda with/in a glass of ice and charged by the can.   Beverage packages get fountain soda - in most cases, just glancing at your card for the code until they recognize you.

> Not all varieties are available at each bar.  For example, I drink 'diet Mojito', using diet Sierra Mist instead of simple syrup.  The casino bar did not have DIET Sierra Mist either on tap or in cans - they didn't run out, they simply don't stock it up there, and it's not on tap anywhere due to low demand.   I had to walk down to the atrium bar and ask/beg/plead with that bartender to give me a few cans to take back to the casino.  The casino bartender then wrote my name on each can, and kept them aside just for me.  (yes, a tip was involved).

Bartenders will generally not give you an unopened can... perhaps because guests will try to restock their cabin fridge to avoid charges?
