Taxi to Cayman Spirits Co.?

So my wife and I are looking into doing a tour/tasting at the  Cayman Spirits Co. while we're in port in October. I was looking at the distillery's website and you can book tours there for $15 per person. I also found an excursion through another site that is $67 per person and (as far as I can tell) it's just the same tour plus transportation to and from the port.

Would it be possible to just get a taxi there and back you think? Surely that would cost less than $100, right? Or would it make sense to just book the excursion and not worry about it?

Also, if anyone has any insights about that particular distillery tour, I'd love to hear. $15 seems pretty cheap. Is it a nice enough time? Or should we just look into doing something different in Grand Cayman?

The distillery is not far from the pier. Definitely can get a taxi. There is also a tour cmpany that includes transportation at a much loer cost, but sorry, I forgot which one. 😞

hoping to do the same in december, so keep us posted on how it went!  i was also wondering if there were other distilleries on the island to visit. i am with you, i don't mind paying the extra for convenience, but if it is close enough by taxi i am pretty sure it would be more cost effective.

Hello! We are stopping in Grand Cayman in a few weeks (Thanksgiving week) and was thinking about doing the same thing. I was also interested in the brewery possibly.

Any recent updates on if it's worth a taxi ride. Is the bus also a possibility?

Thanks 🙂

@CoasterGuy I just went to the distillery last week! We did an excursion thru the ship that went to a few different stops. We picked it due to the distillery. Had a great time. It is pretty small but had a quick tour and then a tasting. I’d recommend checking it out!

@tartist Thank you. Glad you enjoyed. I didn't book through the ship, so just hoping someone can chime in on what a taxi from the port to the distillery would be.

I saw at least one review on another site where someone on the ship apparently walked there. Its about a 30 minute walk one way.

The CI:GO official taxi app says $14 usd each way for a party of 2, assuming I picked the correct locations.  About 1.5 miles by car, depending on the route you take.  Not sure I’d try to walk it, but I guess it’s technically possible.

Back from my cruise just wanted to post an update for reference.

I ended up walking to the distillery and back. 30 min walk each way. It was mostly safe with sidewalks but there were a couple places where I had to cross a busy road without a crosswalk and walk in the grass or side of the road with no sidewalk. Nobody tried to bother me while I was walking each way.
