Deck 11 Solarium … not open all the time so be careful because it gets very windy!

Day 5 Getting off the ship…

 

Today I will be walking into town and walk back. I have to pick up some rum and the price is the best outside the port area.  You can take the round trip water taxi or there are taxis waiting for you outside the compound.  Negotiate Negotiate Negotiate… if you want to Margot (highly recommended) taxi ride is about $15-$20 for two people.  Don’t get taken for a ride!

Thete is really not much to see here unless you want a souvenir or get a drink … or to see the chicken …

Walking Out the gates area… there were about 5 people ready to give you a ride … 

 

The crew is also allowed to leave the ship … I saw my room steward downtown as he screamed hello from across the street 😂

Its like a nature walk today … goats came down from the mountain to graze… do not cross the highway to get a closer look.. it’s very dangerous (cars /trucks ) and also they can charge at you… best to admire from a safe distance … like you are at Yellowstone

When you see the beach / shopping sign .. turn and walk into what looks like a parking lot to get to the boardwalk!  I did not sample the cheese on this trip.  I am waiting for next month when I get to Amsterdam!

Getting to the boardwalk… the shops at the beginning of the walk is the cheapest… the price increase as you get to the board walk.  This is not the best beach … this beach is more for convenience…

June 5, 2022 at about 100 pm I will be enjoying it for the first time on the Oasis in the Windjammer (assuming of course they have it on embarkation day)
