Hi all, has anyone recently boarded in Malta? We've less than 3 weeks to go and was wondering about the checking in processes and general wait times.

Also, any further Covid testing practices?

We sailed April from Malta.  My view may be a bit clouded as we had delays at Manchester due to staff shortages and passengers held up at check in and security,., however,

We were about an 1 1/2 hrs queueing from when the coach dropped us at the port. This was checking we had correct paperwork/ covid jabs up to data, PLf and check in and the volume of passengers landing at the same time.

we also had to collect our bags when the flight landed at Malta ( we understood they went straight to the).  Had to queue to get out of Malta airport and then sat on a coach for an hour before the short drive to the port.

hope this helps.

We flew out from Bristol at the end of April. We had all our paperwork (PLF's, covid vaccine paper, LFT's certificates, boarding passes, health declarations, passports and insurance) checked by staff before our luggage was checked in. We were the first flight out so had no issues re queues getting through security.

As about 6 other plans landed when ours did it took us a long time to get through passport control in Malta. After collecting our own luggage it was a long walk back and forth to get to the exit door from baggage reclaim and then back and forth to the exit door. We then joined a long queue for the coaches. Our luggage was taken and put into a van to be taken to the ship while we boarded a coach. Having boarded the coach we then sat for around 20 minutes and were informed that they were waiting as they were only allowed so many passengers in the ship's terminal for check in!
