How strict are checkin times?

I am sailing from Montreal next month, and the checkin time says 12:40. I am traveling with another family (our reservations are linked), and their checkin time shows 1:40 pm. I wonder how strictly are those enforced? Our hotel is really close by, so if we just, say, show up around noon, will that be a problem?

We're both using verifly app and we set up everything (photo, vaccination documents etc), except the test that needs to be taken T - 72hrs before.

On our two cruises since the unpleasantness, October (out of Amsterdam) and December (out of Port Everglades) check in times did not matter.

They were glad to see us! Get onboard and "savor the journey" as quickly as you can!

Unless I missed something, there haven't been any embarkations from Boston yet this year, so it's impossible to tell exactly how strict keeping to check-in times will be. Come back in about 2 weeks and ask again how it went with the first check-in.
