Insurance / Platinum Status

Hi Crusie Friends 

 

It's been 4 years or so since I last crusied - so I have a couple of questions.

 

When I book - looking at a cruise for May 2023 - do I have to buy the Carnival Insurance now, or can I add it on after ?

 

I will be hitting platinum status while on this cruise - do I get my perks on this cruise - or on my next one ?

You can buy Carnival Vacation Protection anytime up to final payment date.  You will be Platinum from Day 1 of the cruise.

when to buy depends on why you are buying. What are you insuring against?

 

Some people self insure. Some people only insure medical while self insuring cancellation. Some people insure their entire trip.

You don't need to buy the protection via carnival.  I also purchase better coverage for our family cheaper from outside sources.

Same.  And if anyone cruising with you has pre-existing conditions Carnival's insurance does not cover this.
