gift card PIN?

Have been on hold with HAL for just about 2 hours.....then I thought, someone on Cruise Critic will know the answer!   So here goes.   I got a $500 gift card I am trying to apply to my upcoming cruise.   It asks for the PIN number, but I don't see it.   Do I have to scratch off the little box in order to get it?   Am afraid to invalidate the card.   Thanks for the help.

Underneath the sixteen digit card number is another four digit number which says “PIN”. That must be it….

If it's a digital gift card, then the PIN will be provided under the gift card number.  If it's a physical card, then you will need to scratch off the box next to the card number to reveal it.

You can wait until you board to apply it. Then you don't have to wait on hold.

Yes, I could do that, but I want to use it for payment of the cruise.

What error are you getting when you try to use the card?

Have you tried using the "check you balance" on the card - just to validate you have the correct PIN?

went back and tried again....woohoo!  Both gift cards went through!  Thanks for your help.
