Both of them majored on the tours still for sale, there was no general details on what was available in the ports. He is CD on pride for the next few months. JimmyTheSaint Posted June 30, 2022 #178 Share Posted June 30, 2022 I was at the Q&A with Felipe towards the end of our cruise to Norway, certain he said he was going to be the CD for the entire Pride European season. I didn't come away with a good opinion of Felipe as CD, everything felt very flat. He was really put in the shade when The Flying Scotsman came on for a one night performance. I'd really look forward to being on a cruise if he was the CD.
80sGal Posted July 1, 2022 #179 Share Posted July 1, 2022 Can anyone help out with types of adapters we need for use in the UK hotels? I'm assuming my curling iron and cell chargers will work as usual on the Pride since it sails in the US too ... but what about hotels on land? I know Europe and UK have different types, but DH says those sold on Amazon say for low power only and may not work with hair tools. First World problems, I know. So, do we need anything specific for Pride and what will suffice on land?

There are other busses but I'm gone so no idea when they will leave.

If you try the dryer without the converter, it'll will run faster and hotter than you ever imagined until it catches fire (or stops working)

I know I need an adapter so I bought that. I had no idea I also need a converter. When I go to Amazon and type in electrical converter for UK, I get lots of adapters, but nothing says converter. Can someone help me?
Rare Eli_6 Posted July 1, 2022 #184 Share Posted July 1, 2022 Wait...do we need a converter in the UK? I have been to UK and don't recall needing a converter. But, then again, I don't really have anything I plug in other than my phone.

I attended one show in the main theater, sitting waaaaay in the back away from anybody else (theater was maybe one-third full). I spent the vast majority of my time on my beloved bowling-alley balcony, as well as people-watching on the open decks. I had a wonderful vacation. Again, it wasn't like pre-Covid at all, but it was a perfectly delightful, relaxing getaway. ♥️ Hello, I was on the Pride May 8-19 I had a cabin just like that on deck 5 Edited July 3, 2022 by Isasprings

Ours was eventually hosed down after 14 days. It was better but when you looked at the water trench right below the balcony railing it was permanently stained with yellow gunk along with dirt that was tramped in the gunk. It was pretty disgusting and looks like it would take more effort to clean it than the Cleaners had time for.
stephenSJ Posted July 5, 2022 #194 Share Posted July 5, 2022 When we boarded on 19th cabin attendant made a point of apologizing for the state of the balcony and saying he would clean it when he got time. It was cleaned around 6 days later but was little improved. That real wood planking must be much harder to make look clean when it has weathered and gone rough. It was also the narrowest balcony we have ever had, barely room for the chairs. I dont know if we were just unlucky but our neighbours on both sides seemed incapable of closing their balcony door without a huge bang and shake of the cabin.

NCTribeFan Posted July 5, 2022 #196 Share Posted July 5, 2022 I was on Pride in late Jan/early Feb. I was very disappointed to see that there were NO deck chairs out on the Promenade deck. I didn't even see the occasional bench (that I thought was supposed to store extra life vests). One of my favorite things to do on sea days is to sit out there and read (and it helps keep me out of the casino). It's just about the only quiet place on a Carnival ship. Forget the Serenity area. Unfortunately, there's nothing serene about it. I'll be on the fall TA (as well as the two preceding sailings), and really hope there are chairs out there, although by early November, it may be too cold to get much use from them. Any signs of chairs out there now?

Now that I've been off the Pride for two weeks and had time to think about our 31 days on the ship I would say the balconies were the only thing that really bothered me about the ship itself. Besides the older decor the ship was very clean and the MDR, for example looked great. The buffet is the one area that can use some renovation. Besides the tacky blue 'water' lighting that really hasn't aged well the layout could use a re-imagining.
JimmyTheSaint Posted July 5, 2022 #200 Share Posted July 5, 2022 I was on the Norway sailing that left from Dover on the 10th June, balcony cabin deck 5. The balcony was cleaned twice during the sailing but you wouldn't have noticed any difference, partly because the dirty water doesn't drain away but sits in the gutter. There were two problems with the balcony: one, it's incredibly small, I wouldn't book this again; two, the floor, chairs and table were covered in paint splatters which made them appear dirty.
