Removing reservation from my profile

I guess I've made a huge mistake!

I am helping a friend plan her honeymoon and wanted to book an excursion as a gift. I thought there used to be a way to log in to the reservation using the booking number and sail date, but I couldn't find that, so I added her reservation to MY profile (my name is NOT on the reservation). I booked the excursion and now want to remove the reservation from my profile, but I can not find out how to do that. I do not want to delete/cancel the "reservation", just its association with me......as I fear that things will get confused at some time.

It isn't a reservations issue, but rather a website issue, so I called the Captain's Club, who somehow thought I was trying to cancel the reservation. I am now on hold with the Engagement team.....but have been on hold for over 2 hours!!, I tried to use the "help" chat feature, but they only answer general questions and had no clue what I was trying to accomplish.

I am hoping that someone can help me since (after 2 hours)  "we appreciate your patience" has grown old!

I wonder if the link to you will get removed automatically if you do not complete a booking when you don't actually make a booking. It might be set up to allow linkage of people in multiple cabins so that all the bookings don't have to be done simultaneously.

My only experience of traveling in groups was through a Celeb cruise planner that my SIL made her rez with, and they had us linked to the others before we called. Goal was to alliw dining and excursions to be linked.

Can your friend also log into her account, see and manage her reservation?

I have always thought that only one person can own a reservation at a time.

Years ago Celebrity was unable to manage a reservation on line with my name.  They was because I have a JR in my name.  The way the Captain Club and reservation systems handle a JR was different.  One was in the last name field and the other was a separate JR suffix field.  Thus it always came back as a mismatch.  I do not know if they ever fixed the bug.

This has resulting with me always having my wife’s account as the owner of our reservation.

I assume your friend still owns the reservation or has this moved to your profile for some reason?

The cruise booking is complete and deposit made. She “owns” the booking......my name is not on the manifest. She is able to log in to the reservation, but neither have a CC# so I don’t want to have the points added to my account so they can have them added to theirs once they get one.

This is a honeymoon cruise for them, so I wanted to surprise them with a special excursion, so “linked” them on my profile so i could add the excursion and pay for it. I could not find a way to just access the booking using the reservation and ship/sail date.

Now that the excursion has been booked, I want to “unlink” the booking from my profile. Sad to say, but I fear things will get twisted somehow and i’d rather get this fixed now so we don’t have troubles on their honeymoon.

This is not a group booking, just the two of them.

Any suggestions?

I have a related story to this. I learned something new on our last reservation that I'm sure others know, but have never seen discussed here.

We had a group of 8 that booked our cruise with the same TA. All of our reservations were connected together. No problem, we've had this many times before. But this time we decided to book our Select dining reservations on line pre cruise. I took care of the dining reservations, to do that I needed their reservation number, which I had, and their date of birth. Once I input this information in I discovered that I was able to access all aspects of each couples reservation. Express pass, profile information, vax info,  how much OBC they had, ability to book excursions, etc. Pretty much anything you can do to your reservation I could do to theirs, simply by being the one that made the dining reservations. It really wasn't a problem as everyone in the group was either family or close friends, and they all trust me and usually let me take care of most things cruise related. Where this could be a problem is if you are going to make reservations with someone that you don't know that well, like a Roll Call. I think this is something Celebrity should fix.

Just an FYI. It sounds like Carole has the same control over their reservation as I had with my group.

Ok, so I tried (again) to call the Captain's Club. After an hour on hold, I (again) tried the chat function. I logged in to my account and went to my profile page where the reservation could be seen. I clicked the button at the bottom right that says "ask us anything". I was put in contact with "Danielle".

I asked to unlink the reservation from my profile, just to NOT cancel the booking. She asked for my email address and the booking number......which I provided.

Next thing I knew, she said it was done, but would take 24 hours to (not) show up on my profile. I asked how she was able to do so since all the other chat folk had no clue what I was asking or did not know how to. She said she "reached out for assistance". Apparently you can link reservations on the website, you just can't unlink them!

She said Captain's Club handles the unlinking - apparently they do it a lot.....she said usually you need to call them. I suggested that maybe if they actually answered their phones in a timely fashion, people (like me) wouldn't get so frustrated with the process. She said "a lot of people need help".

I certainly hope the cruise booking was not cancelled.....that would be horrible! I'll find out tomorrow if the booking is gone from my profile and hope it still shows on my friend's profile.

As they said in "my day".....news at 11!

I have the same problem! I would like to unlink a friends cruise from mine! I called yesterday and the rep said he has never done that so I told him to leave it alone! Im not sure what you mean by calling The Captains Club! Is that different from calling the Celebrity number?
