Elevate Package Query

Upgraded cabin earlier today and added the Elevate Package, which includes $100 Shore Excursion Credit per person, apologies if this appears a silly question but has anyone any experience if this can be used as On Board Credit rather than just for excursions ?

Generally speaking, Celebrity's OBC is not restricted, it can be used on-board or for excursions.  That said, I would wonder (and I would inquire) if because it specifically states shore excursion credit, if they hold fast to this.

You absolutely can use the obc from Elevate for excursions or onboard purchases. I’ve already used some of mine for dining reservations as well as a hot glass class on our upcoming cruise. You should see the amount on your cruise planner.

Yes you can. I've used most of my for on the Beyond for December.

I had written the Blue Chip folks about this and the credit is open; it can even be used for gratuities (if you have any credit left, that is)!

I asked Celebrity this question via chat on their website a few days ago. The agent I chatted with said the "shore excursion credit" was nonrefundable OBC that can be used to buy anything you normally can buy with OBC --- including specialty dining, spa treatments, and casino credit. The agent gave me some nonsense explanation about Celebrity marketing the OBC as "shore excursion credit" because some people were worried about excursions in the pandemic era and it was an effort to show that people could take excursions with Celebrity.

This is great news, thanks very much for asking the question. We just booked the Equinox for next May and also "Elevated" ourselves. I was actually going to post this very question, as we have $US150/pp in "Shore Excursion" OBC. The ability to use it for other things is a great relief.

Does anyone know if this also applies to those booked in aquaclass? When choosing whether you want cruise only or always included, elevate etc in the small print it states:

 

†AquaClass guests that purchase the Elevate or Indulge package will receive Spa Credit in place of Shore Excursion Credit.

 

Do you have to use it in the spa or does it just get added to your general OBC pot that can be used for anything?

We're in Aqua in October and did the elevate. Have been using OBC for shore excursions.
