You'll be charged to visit Europe from 2023

So soon it will cost an additional $7.30 to visit Europe.  Guess it could be considered a port tax, but you will have to arrange for, and pay for,  it on line.

As the article notes, the European visa waiver fee is still a lot less then the $21.00 United States charges for its visa waiver. Canada only charges $7 (US$5.50) for its waiver fee.

As a European I also must get a visa waiver for my cruise starting in Fort Lauderdale and as @GeorgeCharlie said that costs me almost three times as much. 

Compared to the price of the flight and cruise, it's peanuts.

Not new - Europe announced they were doing this and frankly, I don’t blame them.  The application form should be out this summer and I signed up for email notification.

It’s not a hefty fee IMO - take look at airport tax to fly 😉

According to this article, those  under 18 and over 70 will not have to pay:
