John99 Posted June 25, 2022 #1 Share Posted June 25, 2022 We booked Princess EZ using Air Canada (AC). DTW>YYZ>YQB on Sept 30th (Friday) and return Oct 10th, 2022. The AC flight leaves at 10:10am with a 1hr 21min layover in YYZ. At times the Toronto Airport can be a very busy. Need to go through Canadian Customs (passport check) & Immigration check. Will I need to go through a Security check point to access the domestic terminal? Then on to the AC gate to board the flight to YQB. Our bags are check all the way to YQB. Is 1hr 21min enough time to catch the flight to YQB? Thanks for any feedback. John
tompeter Posted June 26, 2022 #2 Share Posted June 26, 2022 Hopefully you are not flying in on day of departure. Currently YYZ is getting bad press for horrendous customs delays. I would guess AC has multiple daily flights to Quebec City, and if you miss your connection you will be accomodated on later flight.

What you go through entering Canada is Passport Check (Immigration) and Customs.

John They make connection passengers a priority and you go through customs separately from passengers heading to Toronto. Bags are automatically transferred. cruisepro19 Posted July 3, 2022 #5 Share Posted July 3, 2022 Hi John99, I wouldn’t take a chance on a 1.5 hr. layover at YYZ right now. That is just personal opinion based on what we see in the news daily and experiences of friends and family flying out of YYZ not connecting flights though. Not sure what carrier you are flying, but Air Canada just recently announced they cancelled either 10% or 15% of their flights for July and August 2022. We are cruising from Quebec City in September and have booked out of Toronto Island Airport with Porter Airlines and are leaving a day prior to the cruise because if it is cancelled we are fully prepared to drive from the greater Toronto Area. Again, this is just our own preference and personal opinion.

I am doing something similar in August. So you did not need to go back and claim your bags at customs and re check them?
