sirdavid Posted February 28, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 28, 2006 We are sailing on the Volendam March 23 on the Southern Carribean Cruise. I just found these two talking about shore excursions and sunscreen....Will HAL charge extra if they travel in our suite!:)
seadrifter Posted February 28, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 28, 2006 I absolutely love that picture! They could be stowaways on my cruise any time.
Krazy Kruizers Posted February 28, 2006 #3 Share Posted February 28, 2006 It all depends - if you are going to have the sofa bed made up for them each evening and have sitters for them when you are not in the room - HAL just may charge extra for them.:D :D
gizmo Posted February 28, 2006 #4 Share Posted February 28, 2006 They will love the new bedding. :)
jhannah Posted February 28, 2006 #5 Share Posted February 28, 2006 How do you think you would "bear" the news if HAL said they would charge you extra for them? If they try, just "bare" your soul and let them know your guests take up "barely" any room, and don't use any consumables at all. :) Have a wonderful cruise! Mustangs Posted February 28, 2006 #6 Share Posted February 28, 2006 We cruise with extra passengers as well. In fact, on our recent QM2 sailing, the crew became very fond of them, and would always ask how they were doing. Here they are enjoying a pre-dinner martini in the Commodore Club. Cheers! TedC Posted February 28, 2006 #7 Share Posted February 28, 2006 I remember reading on Cruise Critic a few years ago about a couple who traveled on HAL with stuffed animals. They dressed them according to the dress code of the day. This couple always stayed in a suite - but not with their "pets". The "pets" had an adjoining suite! (I am not trying to put any pressure on you.)

There were rumors on board that ship that they even had there own plane seats.
RuthC Posted February 28, 2006 #9 Share Posted February 28, 2006 Ted, didn't you notice we had a bear-lady on our cruise last summer? She had the bear dressed to code most nights---brought it to dinner and seemingly everywhere else, too. She sat near me in the dining room. She (the human) frequently wore a vest made from the HAL canvas bags.

TedC Posted February 28, 2006 #11 Share Posted February 28, 2006 Ruth, No, we weren't seated in that ward - I mean section - of the dining room.
RuthC Posted February 28, 2006 #12 Share Posted February 28, 2006 Ted, I remember where you were seated (my ward wasn't locked;) ); I know you wouldn't have seen this bear-lady from there. I just figured you must have spotted her in your travels around the ship. After all, in 35 days you can't miss too many passengers. That bear went to trivia, lunch, everywhere. KBC Posted February 28, 2006 #13 Share Posted February 28, 2006 I wondered if these were the 'bear people' that RevNeal mentioned recently on a neighbouring ship (German I think?) !!!!!
jhannah Posted February 28, 2006 #14 Share Posted February 28, 2006 Ruth, is this the same "bear lady" who would take a bite with her fork then place a bite at the mouth of the bear, like she was feeding it? Someone told me about that on a cruise and I thought I'd fall out of my seat!
RuthC Posted March 1, 2006 #15 Share Posted March 1, 2006 Jim, I don't remember that happening! Of course, I would never be so impolite as to "stare", but I sure think I would have, um, "noticed" , shall we say.
