Victoria Falls and currency exchange

Before our cruise leaving out of Cape Town we will be going to Victoria Falls.  I feel I will not have a problem getting South African Rand, but feel I need to research to get currency for Zimbabwe and Zambezi.  Will I be able to get both of these currencies at an ATM in Victoria Falls Airport?

For Zimbabwe you will be much better off with USD. Zimbabwe's own currency is very unstable, and USD are preferred.  I don't know your country of origin, but you should be able to get USD somehow.  Zambezi is a river, not a country, and therefore does not have its own currency.

I meant Zambia as the second country we will be in , probably on a tour from Victoria Falls Hotel.  Will USD work there also?

I paid in USD in Zambia in 2016.  Bring nice notes, especially if you're from the US, as the people in Zimbabwe can't get replacement notes- I traded their notes for mine. You'll see how worn out they are!

 

As a note, Zambian side of the falls felt so much more isolated than the Zimbabwe side.
