Bimini port stop

Has anyone gone to Bimini yet? I went there about 7 or 8 years ago when Resorts World was being built and they ran a high speed ship from Miami for a casino overnighter.  Does Celebrity use the Resort World pier or tender into Bimini?  Bimini isn't particularly large, is it basically a beach day/ Does celeb use it for a private beach or association with Resorts World?  Impressions, photos, etc?

No private beach for the ship.  There is a free tram that takes you from the ship to a public beach & a beach with a fee & the shopping area.  When we were there recently 2 shops & a snack place was the extent of shopping.  Not much to do.

We were there in February when Holland America substituted Bimini for Key West (ships were forbidden from porting in Key West at the time).  We had OBC to use so we took a ship's excursion to a lovely beach that had a very decent snack bar with seating in the shade and clean, well maintained bathrooms.  Our excursion included beach chairs and an umbrella.  I would definitely go back again.

I think that was the same beach the tram stopped at.  2 couples got off saying it was cheaper to take the tram.

Go to the category Ports of Call >>> Bahamas.  You will find several threads that discuss Bimini.  I have just bumped one up to the top that discusses the golf cart rental situation.  This is a fun way to see the "real" side of Bimini on your own including beautiful, natural beaches with local flavor.  Don't forget to visit the Dolphin House.  This could all be done before lunch.  Then you could head back to the ship for lunch, then hop on the free tram if you want to check out the Resorts World beach club before the ship shoves off.
