Anyone know if carnival have non smoking cabin floors on their ships? Just curious.

There are no non-smoking cabins that I know of.

NCL used to designate cabins on one side of the ship as non-smoking. Do not know if they still do.

Carnival has never done this.

I am highly allergic to smoke, and on previous RCCL cruises, I never had a problem with smoke or odors, but after reading all the posts here about smoking, I wonder if I was just lucky before and should I be very concerned now???

Carnival does not restrict smoking in any staterooms. I hate smoke, but have never smelled smoke residue upon enterting our stateroom initially. (Only a couple times have I smelled it coming through the air ducts during our cruise).

Disney Cruise Line prohibits smoking in any stateroom.

You won't find any non-smoking cabins on cruise ships. You [B]will[/B] find many non-smoking public areas on the ship, though. I've never noticed a smoke smell in any cabin we've ever stayed in, and most of the public smoking areas are outside, except for certain bars/lounges. No dining areas or auditoriums allow smoking. Forgot to mention the Carnival Paradise, which has been strictly non-smoking for years, but will be a smoking ship in November (I think?).

Actually all Disney Cruise Line staterooms are non-smoking.

???? My neighbors took their kids on the Wonder a couple of years ago, and they both smoke. They never said anything about not being able to smoke in their cabin. I'll ask them about that, because I've not heard that about the Disney ships. I know they don't have casinos, but I didn't know about the non-smoking cabins.

I used to work for Disney Cruise Lines. All staterooms are smoke-free. Guests are advised to book a balcony if they wish to smoke. That doesn't mean that guests actually obey the rule (what else is new?). Once on DCL we encountered a guest smoking in the passageway outside his stateroom door...hello???

No, the cabin floors don't smoke[img]http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif[/img]. I don't think there are any cabings that are designated as NS either.

Some cruises out of different ports have more smokers on them than others. The only place that I get bothered by smoke is in the casino, and if it bothers me, i just go to a different area. The casino is large enough to share. Nancy

My luck with smokers in the Casino is that just when they open a table (BJ) that I like - two CHAIN SMOKERS will sit on either side of me.. smoking is one thing... but to CHAIN SMOKE - wow....

The sad thing about that is when it happens, and I am winning, it is TOUGH to leave a winning situation. Even though that is when one likely should leave!!!

Paradise becomes smoking on 9/20/2004, its first 3/4 day cruise out of Long Beach.

I'm a NS [not militant] and have never smelled stale smoke in a cabin. Have had a few chimneys sit next to me in the casino. If I was on a hot winning streak and a smoker was bothering me with too much smoke, I'd ask [axe] them to ease up. But then I'm as large as a gorilla.

tef43 - thanks for the info. on the Paradise. I knew it was one of those autumn months - just couldn't remember which one.

Talked to my neighbor this morning, as we were both trying to juggle our briefcases/dripping commuter mugs/keys/security alarm/wet newspaper/ getting into our cars. He said that they smoked on the balcony. He also said it was one of the best cruises they'd ever been on. Now, my neighbor is a very high-roller, getting that balcony cabin! (That's why I live in his garage!)
