Now walking to the meeting stop for my food tour that I booked on my own!  I stopped to look at this flowing chocolate wall art and chimney cake … I get distracted easily!

Small tour with 8 people… great tour as you will see… plenty to eat … plus we got to tour the largest Fish/Meat Market in Europe… Central Market which I have already been!

Central Market… in depth look!  The smell was worse today and just as graphic as it was yesterday!

There is a sushi bar right outside the fish market… they slice the fish right there… the fish is just sitting on ice on the bottom … I am all for fresh food but that’s too fresh for me !

Meat section … again… I like the sausage but I don’t want to know the exact details on how it’s made kind of a person!

Authentic Greek coffee experience … very interesting how they “brew” Greek coffee … loved it!  Not a fan of the jelly fruit at the end… but I am not a Turkish Delight kind of a guy…

Greek Deli… Greek Cheese Feta and a softer Greek cheese … delicious and nothing like what I buy at the supermarket back at home … the Greek white/red wine was interesting… the Raki from Turkey (similar to Ozuo)
 

The Greek yogurt here is NOTHING like Chobani … it has more texture and the honey drizzle … WOW… I never knew there were so many different types of honey in Greece.

Off to lunch now… yes I said lunch during this food tour… we started with Ozuo with honey and cinnamon… wow that tastes so smooth and like a fireball shot!

I saved this spot to come back… we were told that this cafe changes the theme every we months…right now it’s all about Alice in Wonderland

Dinner… yes I still had room for dinner … I found this place across from the ancient Agora… beautiful view … delicious grilled Octopus… I had one glass of wine, one glass of Ozuo, baked eggplant with feta (wow) Greek Salad… 41E total.

The Octopus was so fresh so tender and that olive oil… wow!

I highly recommend adding a few days before the cruise to explore Athens… lots of cultures and gives time for you body to adjust the time change!

Moxy Athens… I picked this hotel because it’s close to public transport, close to central market and close to the Acropolis.  Plus I can hop on the public transport to the cruise port.

How do you like the Moxy?  I'm Bonvoy Titanium so it was one of the hotels I looked it.  Currently booked at the King George but I'm not sure I want to pay thr $500/night extra cost

It’s a nice clean hop and trendy type of hotel.  Think Aloft but trendier.  Not a lot the service but I am not looking for a resort type while in Athens due to the many activities I have planned and there are so much to see and do.  Breakfast is complimentary for platinum elite if you select it as your welcome amenity.  I am very glad I picked this place.  The location is great, very accessible to the Metro and getting here from the airport was a breeze on the metro.

I live in Turkey & the cherries are more expensive here to buy!
