clan Posted August 1, 2022 #1 Share Posted August 1, 2022 For those of you who have been on Radiance recently: How was My Time dining? Was it difficult to get a table for 2 with no advance reservations? I know a while back there were lots of reports of difficulties with My Time dining on many of the ships. And with Traditional Dining (late), can you be assured of getting a table for 2 if you request that? TIA for your comments.

Rare BirdTravels Posted August 1, 2022 #3 Share Posted August 1, 2022 We have been on 5 post-restart cruises and never had any problems with MTD. That is the only dining selection we ever use (not real big on scheduled eating).

MTD on the Explorer in March was a cluster. We had early (6:00) TD and when leaving the MDR the line for MTD (didn't start until 7:15) went back to studio B. Glad we switched to early TD prior to our sail date.

That's exactly why I'm trying TD on Explorer this Saturday. Husband has a cane temporarily due to a back injury and cannot stand for long periods of time. And before anyone say's anything, he's too proud to sit down.

Bon Voyage. 🍻 The first evening for TD we waited in line less than five minutes due to the staff escorting us to our table (traditional for the first evening). All other evenings we walked right in, sat down and order drinks. We always prefer a two top. So when we first board the ship we go directly to the MDR (TD or MTD) and find a couple of tables we like. We ask if they are available and if so we select out first choice and would like that table for entire cruise. Been doing this for years.

We've been doing UDP for years and this is a departure for us. The prices are just crazy anymore so we thought we'd give it a try. So, if you know where you're going to sit the first night beforehand, why don't you just go and sit instead of waiting to be seated?

Our experiences on the first evening is wait in line (directed by the staff member at the podium at the entrance to the MDR) to be escorted. Traditional. Maybe you don't need to (?). Funny thing is we always end up escorting the staff member to our table as we know exactly where the table is while he/she is trying to find it by the table number. 😁
