lindacat Posted August 3, 2022 #1 Share Posted August 3, 2022 I recently received a complimentary upgrade from the casino for a 7/2023 cruise on the Magic. I was upgraded to an ocean suite and accepted it before I realized that there is no separate shower in the room. My mother who will be almost 83 at the time of the cruise is staying in the room with me. She is not very mobile, and uses a cane. She has had trouble getting in and out of the tub in the past. She does not have problems at home because the sides of the tub are low and she has a grab bar and shower seat. Before I call and change back to a suite, does anyone have a suggestion for portable equipment I can bring so that she can use the tub safely. As much as I would enjoy the suite, I do not want her to be unsafe
Schoifmom Posted August 3, 2022 #2 Share Posted August 3, 2022 We just had a suite on the Splendor. The sides of the tub are VERY high. The best I could recommend would be to find a transfer shower seat. This is a shower seat that will allow her to sit down and then slide over; however, she will still need to lift her legs over the side of the tub. Rare ColeThornton Posted August 3, 2022 #3 Share Posted August 3, 2022 I wouldn't even mess with the tub. Remember you are on a ship that can shift or roll at any moment with no warning. Safety first. 🙂
MsTabbyKats Posted August 3, 2022 #4 Share Posted August 3, 2022 I didn't accept the upgrade offer because of "the tub".

Suites are nice, but to be honest, her safety is more important. We found the tub to be difficult, DH because of some slight mobility issues and me because I'm only 5' tall. The first one is the traditional shower...the second one has the tub/shower combo. If there's something to hang on to, I'd love to relax in the tub. If not...it's the shower for me........
